The oldest form of jewellery made and worn in India is the 24 carat pure gold Kundan jewellery.
Kundan works is a method of gem setting, consisting of inserting gold foilbetween the stonesand it's mount.
'Mena Kundan' work of art of enemelling with brilliant colours and design was done on the reverse of a jewellery piece, along with the Kundan setting in the front. 'Mena Kundan' also known as Bikaneri
or Jaipuri Jewellery.

Today the finest Kundan jewellery is made in Bikaner, in Rajesthan. The Historical Aura associated with this jewellery, that is once worn by only kings and queens, is what make it so atteractive. As they'll tell you, Kundan jewellery, like wine gets better with time.

Despite the fusion of Western Morden days jewellery in the culture, on occassions like Wedding and Festivals, Indian women always prefere the traditional and the Ethnic look--- bedecked and be jewellery in their complete finery
